People, Vacations, and Family.

Brian and Cindy, I hope that you guys don't mind too much, but only two of the pictures that I took came out very well. It was getting late, and as the light was fading, it made it difficult to get a really good shot off. I did take a shot of your daughter that looks like a really cool old photograph.

What a week.

So I am in PC right now. For you Columbus Natives, no I am not talking about Phenix City. I thought that it might be fun to share some of my vacation. So Enjoy.

Speed Shooting

All right, so I went against several people's advice, and I have shot some animals here recently. If you have been following my work then you know that I have a crack like addiction to shooting animals. I finally got what I was looking for in these shots, and I am moving onto people I don't know. I was really lucky that I actually got these. I was trying to get up close and personal with this duck when I pissed it off, and I zoomed out as fast as I could, I don't how it is that I was at the right aperture and shutter speed, but I was. I will also say that this is the first time that I have ever used a polarizer, and I love the thing. Enjoy.

What the hell is it about cats?

Well it would seem that I have had another feline enter my life. I think that this is perhaps one of the most beautiful cats that I have ever seen.

The Morning Light

Nowhere near what I saw in my head when I got started. I wanted venetian blind shadows all over the place... I think that this came out well though.

Columbus Parks And Recreation

I was shooting the ASA Girls Slowpitch Softball Nationals a few weekends ago. I had a spare moment, and I managed to catch some of the Columbus Parks and Rec guys cooling off. It was so hot that they had this $2000 fan water majigger.

Dramatic Pregnancy Part 2

O.k., so this is the second attempt at a dramatic pregnancy shot. I think that I hit the mark a lot closer this time. Next time I am going to try and nail it!

By the By

Don't worry Phil. I took this at home tonight to test a theory. We will be over there this weekend to erase the last traces of ourselves from the old house.

It needs something...

First shot at dramatic pregnancy. It needs something though... For those of you that don't know, I have been theorizing on how to make a pregnancy art on film. It is already the most powerful art of life, but I want to represent that, and do it justice. I am going to count this first attempt as a failure.

Well, we went downtown to the river today. I did my best to play around with the new lighting equipment that I got. I think that next time, I will be bringing a third flash. It seems like these images need some back lighting.

UPDATE: This post has been changed, because I decided that the words of wisdom that my best friend and photographic mentor Phil wrote were so very true. I will not be watermarking anything else that I have done visually. The electronic watermark isn't going anywhere though.

A Cereal Box with Some Black Straws

So check out this shot of my dog. Who would have thought that you could actually make a grid spot/honeycomb out of a cereal box and some bar straws. Certainly not me, but it did work. I shot this one with a homemade 5cm grid. Cool huh? The Fly was shot in the bathroom with a portable studio, and some wireless flash triggers. I think that it came out well.
