Looking back...
I guess that I should not have been so brutal on camera phones. Here is a shot of my little girl, that a friend of my wife shot in the hospital with her Razor.

Hmmm.
Well, I guess that I should say, get ready for the revision. This one is waaaaay too dark. Can't even see the glass which was one of the main focal points to begin with. Better put my thinking cap on... Now if only I could remember what I did...

NO NO NO! This is why people don't like wine. I laughed like crazy when I saw this. It is so ridiculous. I will agree to an extent, but if your Burgundy A.K.A (Bourgogne) Pinot Noir tastes like a sweaty sock, then you need to take it back for a refund. Us profeshunals call that a FLAW. Look it up... I'm just glad to see Conan drinking wine.

Grapes and their Magical Powers, am I lazy or what?
Well, we went to Oakencroft Winery (http://www.oakencroft.com). I have to say that it was quite the experience. The only part of the trip that was better than visiting the winery, was when I was called as one of the people that passed the Introductory Sommelier's exam. My wife and I actually got to meet Felicia Rogan (No pictures please), and she was a wonderful woman. A person that rolls up in a 1967 Jag, with the Jaguar hood ornament cut off and replaced by a plastic bull, has to be interesting, and she was. She was also a very kind woman, and I would love to have a chance to sit down and talk with her. A very interesting story there. Enjoy some of the best that VA has to offer.

There are wineries in Virginia? There are wineries in Virginia!
Sitting here in the hotel in Charlottesville VA, after finishing the first day of the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Sommelier's Exam. Be looking for the images from the Oakencroft Vineyards soon. Owned by Felica Rogan, this is one of the premier vineyards in VA. Julie and I got a chance to meet Ms. Oakencroft, and I have to say that she is one of the nicest ladies I have ever talked to.

Light Painting and the "Dragan" Effect
There is a style of image that is circulating around. So called "Light Painting" or if you prefer, "The Dragan Effect". I don't agree with calling it the latter. He did not invent this style of editing per say, he made it his own. While I do not agree with the majority of his personal philosophy, I do like some of the images that he has created. So with the "How the hell did you do that?" curiosity that has guided me through life, I set out to learn it. There are at least two effective ways to do this by hand, and several precooked action scripts that will more or less automate the process. I have tried every method that I could find, and there are only two that seem to work 100%. I have not gotten all of the kinks out yet, but when I do, you can bet that I am going to post a tutorial on how to do it. I had to look for two days just to find enough information to get this image done. I have been working on it for the last three hours. This is a method that involves a lot of time and effort, but the rewards are well worth it. Happy Halloween All!
Click on the Images to get the full effect. They don't look quite right small.

My little little girl. I have two you know...
I wonder how useful this will be for extortion later on... I shot this blind, as I was using the timer function on my camera. I guess it was part luck, and part educated guessing, but I own the hairy man hands in this shot, and I was really glad that I got it, since she was waking up as I took this last one...

Picking Leaves Are Fun
I really am working on the wine series, but I just had to post this. Kids do the craziest things, and it helps me create. I love it!

Out for a while...
Over the next few weeks I will be working on a large series that will be covering wine and unusual pairings. This work will be largely an attempt at relaxation during my prep for the Court of Master Sommelier Introductory test. Give me some time, and I will give you some awesome images of wine and gas station fare being enjoyed, as well as people having a great time enjoying it. This is going to be the first photo essay that I have ever done, so be patient.

She's having my Baby!
What a wonderful way to say how much she loves me!
But seriously. World meet Rebekah Renée Foster. The name that we kept secret right up until the last second. (:-D. I hope that everyone grows to love her as much as we do. This is hands down the best birthday present that I have ever gotten. Thanks so much to the love of my life Julie Ann Wilson.

Cheeto Wine, and Ads
Phil the setup shot is for you bro. I know that you wanted me to post one. Mimi, the "Be Cheesy" ad is for you. I thought that this was fairly snarky, but I could try harder if needed. Hope you guys like it.
